Join us noon Saturday, August 8th for our 2nd Annual brewed-for-good collaboration release party.
Here’s the story. Each year firefighters nationwide raise money for MDA, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, with their Fill The Boot campaign. For the second year in a row we teamed up with our local fire department, Local 900, to participate. On July 7, our Head Brewer Jeff Griffith alongside a team from Boulder Fire Department Local 900 brewed Thor Strong.
Here’s how the beer turned out:
Thor Strong Cherry Wheat
5.1% ABV 16 IBUs $6/pint
Wheat and Pilsner Malts
Magnum Hops
This wheat ale with a delicate light pink color has been infused with cherry puree. It is crisp and refreshing with a rich, smooth viscosity.
The best part? $2 from each pint of Thor Strong sold will go to MDA.
And the name? Since Thor Strong is a beer made from an adjunct grain, wheat, it was named based on Germanic mythology. “Thor” is the hammer-wielding old Norse god associated with lightning, healing, strength and protection of mankind. “Strong” is a term used to describe the relationship between Fire Fighters and MDA. The two have been working collaboratively raising funds with the Fill the Boot campaign for over 60 years strong.
More On The Event
Saturday, August 8 Local 900 will be here accepting additional Fill the Boot donations and selling Second Annual collaboration brew t-shirts.
MDA will be here.
Plus, to up the ante, we will be donating 5% of all event proceeds to MDA.
Now we just hope to see you here too.
Please join us in celebrating beer brewed for good by drinking for good.
