Catch Pokémon GO in Boulder, CO

Brewery-Gym A Winning Combo

When we opened our brewery in 2013 we never knew that we would also eventually also have a Gym. Until today. Or perhaps to be more exact, July 6th, 2016 when the Pokemon GO app first launched in the United States. Nonetheless, today we learned we have a Gym, on our patio: a Pokemon Go Gym.

That’s right. I’m personally only a Level Four Pokemon Go player so I don’t yet have access to this location within the game but I sure am looking forward to it.

“PokeStops and Gyms…are found at publicly accessible places such as historical markers, public art installations, museums and monuments” says Niantic Labs, the app’s developer. The app is available for download free now in both iTunes and Google stores. Within a week of release, Pokemon GO became the most active mobile game ever in the United States with more than 21 million players.

The app uses Geo-location, location mapping, augmented reality, in-app camera functionality, compass, gyroscope and more.

Leveling up hasn’t been too difficult yet and Level Five grants access to the Gym where players declare allegiance to and battle for one of three teams:

  • Red (Team Valor)
  • Yellow (Team Instinct) or
  • Blue (Team Mystic)

The FATE Pokemon GO Gym is currently run by the Blue Team. It was Red this morning and Yellow team twenty or so minutes ago.

Best Pokemon GO advice we’ve heard so far (besides the obvious “be aware of your surroundings” and “supervise children”): Gotta Catch The Art. Use the in app camera to capture images of your catch. Share your sightings and battles on social media and be sure to tag your FATE Brewing Company Pokemon with #drinkyourfate

Best part? While we have more recently became a Gym we’ve always been a brewery. And a restaurant. Battle. Fuel up. Trainers welcome. Bring your candies, eggs and incense and join us in the battle.
