What’s in Name? The story Behind our Moirai India Pale Ale (IPA).

FATE Moirai IPA Beer Label

Storytelling is a big part of everything we do at FATE. It’s part of our companies DNA. Every Monday we’re going to share the story behind one of our core beers. First up is our Moirai (moi-rí) IPA. Moirai is the Greek Mythological translation of the “THE FATES”

The Moirai are 3 ugly old women who are the incarnations of destiny and determine the lot of a human’s life. Their existence is based in the universal principal of the natural order and therefore something, “which is right.” They FATEs are named:

Clotho – She spins the thread of life from her distaff onto her spindle. Sings of the things that are.

Lachesis – She measures the thread of life allotted to each human. She sings of the things that were.

Atropos – She cuts the thread of life with her shears when the time has come, chooses the manner of each persons death. She sings of the things that are to be.

Some details on our Moirai IPA:

This beer is defined by its pronounced hop bitterness, flavor and aroma.  It has a solid malt backbone that works with the citrusy American hops. The hop bouquet resonates like flavors of tangerine and ruby red grapefruit. The mouth feel is crisp and dry leaving a balance of bitterness and rich malt on the palate. It is golden honey in color.
